The lore

So basically you have Welcome Home but it's based on the movie Corpse Bride from Tim Burton. It pretty much follows the original storyline but with the characters from the puppet world.

Y/n is the main character who is put in a arranged marriage with Howdy after they ruin the wedding rehearsal by forgetting the vows they are scolded and flees. They practice their wedding vows in the nearby forest, placing the wedding ring on a nearby upturned tree root. But the root turns out to be the finger of a murdered puppet in a tattered bridal suit named Wally, who rises from the grave claiming that he is now Y/n’s husband.

After fainting, Y/n wakes up and finds out they are spirited away to the surprisingly festive Land of the Dead. They learn the story of how Wally, their new groom, was murdered years ago by an unknown criminal on the night of his secret elopement. Wally, as a wedding gift, reunites Y/n with their long-dead pet. Meanwhile, Victoria's parents hear that Victor has been seen in another woman's arms, and become suspicious.

Wanting to reunite with Howdy, Y/n tricks Wally into taking them back to the Land of the Living by pretending they want him to meet their parents. He agrees to this and takes them to see Frank, the kindly ruler of the underworld, to send them both temporarily to the Land of the Living. Once back home, Y/n asks Wally to wait in the forest while they rush off to see Howdy and confess their wish to marry him as soon as possible, to which they gladly returns his feelings. Just as they are about to share a kiss, Wally arrives and sees the two of them together and, feeling betrayed and hurt, angrily drags Y/n back to the Land of the Dead. With Y/n gone, Howdy gets married off against his will to a presumed-wealthy newcomer in town named Julie, who appeared at the wedding rehearsal.

Wally is heartbroken by Y/n’s deception. They, however, apologize for lying to him, and the two reconcile while playing the piano together. Shortly after, Eddie appears in the afterlife and informs Y/n of Howdy’s impending marriage to Julie. In order for Y/n's and Wally’s marriage to become valid, Y/n must repeat their vows in the Land of the Living and willingly drink the Wine of Ages, a poison - thus joining him in death. Overhearing this, and fretting about having lost Howdy to another person, Y/n agrees to die for Wally. All of the dead go "upstairs" to the Land of the Living to perform the wedding ceremony for them both. Upon their arrival, the town erupts into a temporary panic until everyone recognizes their loved ones from the dead and they have a joyous reunion under the bizarre circumstances.

After a quarrel with Julie (and realizing she was only after the supposed money), Y/n follows the procession of dead to the church. Wally notices Howdy and realizes that he is denying Y/n their chance at happiness the same way it was stolen from him. As Y/n prepares to drink the cup of poison to kill themselves, Wally stops them and reunites them with Howdy. Julie interrupts them, and Wally recognizes her as his former bride - who is revealed to be the one who murdered him for his dowry. Julie tries to kidnap Y/n at sword point, but Howdy stops her and the two duel. The dead townspeople are unable to interfere with the affairs of the living. Howdy intercedes to save Y/n and Julie mockingly proposes a toast to them, she unknowingly drinks the cup of poison. The dead, now able to intercede, happily drag the "new arrival" back to the Land of the Dead for retribution for her crimes.

I don’t think the creator made an canon ending but I feel like that up for interpretation.

Side info

✰ Y/n, Howdy, Eddie, Julie are inhabitants of the the Land of the Living.

✰ Sally, Barnaby, Frank, Poppy are inhabitants of the the Land of the Dead.

✰ Wally is just being depressed in the graveyard, existing there.

✰ Also lets just say that when Wally died he had... trouble keeping himself together. He still occasionally falls apart and needs someone or himself to sew him back together.

✰ Home is the worm that lives in Wally’s eye-socket *Skill issue*

✰ Eddie and Frank are married but the latter got sick and died and they’ve been separated for 15 years!! (IMMA CRY)
